Today has been declared by the UN as Malala Day, in honour of Malala Yousafzai. Malala is a fifteen year old girl who was shot in the head a month ago in Pakistan by the Taliban for promoting girls’ education. The above undated photo is of Malala recovering in a British hospital.
As Canadians, its not even a thought in our heads that girls are able to attend school, yet 32 million girls around the world are denied access to education.
